Let’s Talk Pricing
Pricing is always a bit of a pain point for people. Why some things cost more than others or why some services cost more with different people. There are a lot of factors that go into pricing and why things cost what they do. Being a beauty concierge service, our job is to match you with the best artists for your occasion, and one of the factors we consider is your budget. We want to make sure that you get the best value and the best experience with artists, so your budget is always in mind.
Why services cost what they do.
Let’s take hair and makeup as an example. Pricing for artists is based on a few factors, first and foremost being their experience level. Artists with less experience will usually charge less and as they gain more experience the prices may increase. Demand for the artist is also a factor. If an artist has been booked a lot, then it is not uncommon for an artist to raise their pricing the next year. Other factors to consider:
- If the artist has been published this adds to their credentials and adds value to their services.
- The type of work that they do (photo shoots, magazines, editorials, weddings, celebrities, etc.)
- The cost of product that the artist uses (hair product, makeup, etc.)
- The location of the artist may also determine their pricing (i.e. cost of living).
Determining the value of the pricing for you.
When considering artists for your occasion, you have to determine the value of what the artist is providing you. Budget is for sure a factor, but I also want you to consider what you are saving. For example, when you contact us, you tell us what you need and we handle all of it. Literally all of it. Scheduling, timelines, billing, all of the headache type stuff. This saves you time, so you don’t have to schedule the services yourself. This saves you stress and takes all of the guesswork off of you. A concierge service is meant to save you time, so you can do the things you love and focus on what is important.
You get what you pay for, and that is worth something. Beauty is a splurge, but it’s worth it, and we talked about the value of convenience here. It’s up to you if the value is worth it to you, especially for the price point, but hopefully, now you know a little bit more about what goes into pricing for artists and can determine that value for yourself. If you ever want to chat, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Happy to help any way that we can!
