When Is Wedding Season? And How To Save Money In The Off Season
You see the wedding hashtag all the time on Instagram. Almost every photo even remotely related to weddings has it (we’ve done it too), but when is wedding season?
Well firstly, I would say that it depends on where you live. Places with seasons typically have a more distinctive pattern when it comes to weddings. Deep winter months are less popular (anywhere with snow on the ground really). The Knot has some great resources for months that are less popular and dates to avoid in 2018 and 2019. The bonus to less popular months though, is there is more availability and things are cheaper!
Back to the question at hand. From personal experience, I would say that there isn’t one particular time of the year that is designated wedding season, but there are some months are popular almost every year. These are summer months (June and August) and fall (September and October). In California, you may see #weddingseason almost all year round and that is because the weather is pretty perfect all year round. Though the weddings do pick up starting in May and stay busy through to October. The slower months are November and December, so if you are wanting some deals, I would check out venues and other vendors for that time of year.
To be frank, though, planners and vendors alike are going to use #weddingseason as long as they have weddings that month. Simple as that. They want to showcase their work and who knows, maybe you will be booking a wedding that time next year. 😉
